Overview

528 Victoria Falls is a designer bed and breakfast in a quiet, leafy suburb, about 2.5 kilometres from Victoria Falls town and 3 kilometres from the waterfall. The house has eight en-suite rooms: doubles as a king or twins, a triple, a family room for four and a family suite for five. Rooms are air-conditioned, with tea and coffee, a hair dryer, an in-room safe and a finished bathroom. The Bungalow, a standalone villa on the same property, has two en-suite bedrooms, a lounge with a kitchenette and a private garden, and guests there use the main house as well. Breakfast is included, with a cold spread and dishes cooked to order. The lounge and dining room look over the pool and a tropical garden. Upstairs, the Treetops rooftop bar looks toward the Zambezi and the lights of Livingstone. It runs on an honesty basis and also has tea and coffee. Wall carvings, murals and chandeliers in the house were made by Zimbabwean artisans. Owner-operators Paul and Meredith and a small team help with taxis, tours and the details of a short stay. A taxi into town is about five minutes. The rate is bed and breakfast, per person sharing. This is a comfortable base for the Falls and for a Zambezi sunset cruise, not a full-board safari lodge. Victoria Falls rainforest entrance, activities beyond those on your package, visas, flights and tips are not included. The property is about 20 kilometres from Victoria Falls Airport. Lights and geysers are solar-powered, and grey water is reused on the garden.
