Tented Camp

Semowi Nature Camp

Gomoti River, Shorobe, near Maun, Okavango Delta, Botswana

Overview

Semowi Nature Camp is a small, owner-run stay on the Gomoti River, just north of Shorobe and about an hour from Maun. There are only four en-suite safari tents, plus three private campsites, so the place stays quiet. You wake to hippos, frogs and birds, and the river is right there from your deck. Séverine and Morgan run the camp themselves. Morgan grew up guiding in Botswana. Séverine came from Switzerland, and between them the welcome feels personal from the first email. Meals are cooked on site, with breakfast on the river deck, homemade breads and jams, and vegetarian options if you ask ahead. There is a bar looking over the water for a sunset drink. From camp you can glide out on a mokoro, take a sunset cruise on the Gomoti, visit a nearby village, or spend time with the orphaned elephants at Elephant Havens, a short drive away. It is an easy, comfortable stop before Moremi or Khwai, and a gentle place to slow down on the edge of the Delta. The tents have a king or twin beds, a private bathroom with a hot shower, an outdoor shower, a tea and coffee station, solar power for charging, and daily housekeeping. The campsites have their own braai areas, warm showers and a shared ablution block, and campers can use the restaurant and bar.
