Chobe Day Trip from Victoria Falls

Chobe National Park, Botswana
Duration11–12 hours

About the Adventure

Chobe National Park in Botswana is home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife on the planet, and because it sits just across the border, it is entirely possible to experience it in a single, action-packed day from Victoria Falls. This day trip is designed to give you two completely different perspectives of the park: a quiet water-safari on the Chobe River in the morning, followed by an open 4x4 game drive through the riverfront forests in the afternoon. We know that a cross-border day trip can sound daunting, especially with the early start and the logistics of customs. That is why we handle the entire transition. A comfortable, closed transfer vehicle takes you from your hotel to the Kazungula border, where our local representative meets you to guide you through immigration. Once in Botswana, you are handed over to our trusted, professional local guides who know every bend of the river and track of the park. The absolute standout for most of our guests is the morning boat cruise. Unlike traditional game drives, drifting on the water allows you to glide within meters of massive elephant herds, pods of hippos, and crocodiles basking on the banks without disturbing them. After a relaxed buffet lunch at a beautiful riverfront lodge, you will head out in an open 4x4 to track Chobe's big cats, massive buffalo herds, and diverse birdlife before we head back across the border in the late afternoon.

Good to Know

  • The KAZA UniVisa ($50 USD, purchasable on arrival at Victoria Falls airport) is highly recommended as it covers your return entry into Zimbabwe seamlessly.
  • Expect a long but incredibly rewarding day, with hotel pickups starting between 06:30 AM and 07:15 AM.
  • Bring a warm jacket or windbreaker for the morning boat cruise, as the breeze off the water can be quite chilly.
  • Pack sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and your camera charger or spare batteries—there are endless photo opportunities.

Good to Pair With
