Journey Overview

Chobe National Park is home to one of the largest elephant populations on the continent — by some estimates, more than 120,000 — and it's close enough to Victoria Falls to visit in a single day. This itinerary does exactly that: an early start, a border crossing into Botswana, and a full day split between a game drive and a river cruise along the Chobe waterfront, where elephants, buffalo, hippos, and crocodiles gather in some of the highest concentrations in Africa. We handle the border crossing and timing so the logistics stay invisible — your day is simply about wildlife. A picnic or light lunch keeps you out in the park through the middle of the day, when the river cruise often delivers the best sightings as animals come down to drink. By evening, you're back across the border and home in Victoria Falls, having spent a full day in one of Southern Africa's most celebrated parks.

Day 1

Chobe National Park, Botswana

After an early departure from Victoria Falls, we cross the border into Botswana (around an hour's drive to Kazungula, plus border formalities) and head into Chobe National Park for a guided game drive along the riverfront, known for some of the highest wildlife densities in Africa. Around midday, a picnic or light lunch keeps the day going without a long break. In the afternoon, you'll board a boat for a Chobe River cruise — often the highlight of the day, as elephants, buffalo, hippos, and crocodiles come down to the water's edge, sometimes within meters of the boat. As the light softens toward evening, we make the return crossing back into Zimbabwe and transfer you back to your accommodation in Victoria Falls.
